Bridging the Gap - an evening of inclusion and diversity networking organised by CFA UK Inclusion ad Diversity Network in conjunction with Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) London.

CFA UK Inclusion and Diversity Network ran an event where students from SEO London Network were introduced to the investment sector by Anne Richards, CEO of Fidelity, who told us that "socio-economics diversity is one of the most hidden type of diversity, people who have walked a different path because of their different socio-economic background have some particular point of view that they can bring into the whole debate. It's really important that hear those voices."

This event was developed with the support of SEO London, an organisation that has a mission to prepare students from an ethic minority or low socio-economic background for career success, firmly believes that "everybody in society needs a chance" says its Founder and CEO, Andrew Fairbairn.

At the event, the students from ethnic minority or low socioeconomic backgrounds had the opportunity to network with senior professionals in the industry. Toby, one of the students, said that "events like this are the first step to raise awareness and give more insight to bring more people from diverse background intro the industry."

TinaShe Tande, I&D Network Committee member and also an organiser of the event, mentioned that "the event is a great opportunity to bring together senior leadership within the asset management space with people who are considering a career in asset management and come from a diverse background."
